The official journey is over — but we’re still moving, still documenting, still listening as we bring the ship back home. The crew has changed: Gigi and Stephan have left; Markus and Christine remain on board, heading upstream with a changing cast of artist-friends. The logbook continues.
We made it to Altenwörth today – a smooth and steady journey. The ship is running well, and after all the struggles with currents and high water, it feels good to simply move forward without tension.
We’ve been incredibly lucky with the weather. While rain clouds gather elsewhere, we seem to be gliding through a little pocket of calm and sunshine. Days like these – simple, easy, and light.
The rhythm of travel has shifted again. Less pushing, more flowing. More time to breathe, to look around, to enjoy the movement itself. Markus even found time to create a few one-minute sculptures – which, as it turns out, also help with vibrating windows in the lock.
