Day 62, Dunaújváros, HU – Budapest, HU

logbook 25 07 23

The official journey is over — but we’re still moving, still documenting, still listening as we bring the ship back home. The crew has changed: Gigi and Stephan have left; Markus and Christine remain on board, heading upstream with a changing cast of artist-friends. The logbook continues.

A lot happened today. We left Dunaújváros – a former Stalinist model city – and made our way to Budapest. Arriving in Budapest means an hour-long journey right through the heart of the city, surrounded by countless tourist boats and becoming a photo motif ourselves for hundreds of people on the riverbanks.

The city is impressive – proudly facing the Danube, even if the shores are completely sealed and built up.

The evening in Budapest was all about boat chores: refilling our water tanks, getting fuel, and doing laundry at the laundromat. Still exciting in its own way, but maybe not quite enough to write a whole story about.

So here are just a few photos while waiting for the laundry.
