The official journey is over — but we’re still moving, still documenting, still listening as we bring the ship back home. The crew has changed: Gigi and Stephan have left; Markus and Christine remain on board, heading upstream with a changing cast of artist-friends. The logbook continues.
Yesterday, we enjoyed a calm anchorage near Bačka Palanka – some kayak adventures, and finally a good night’s sleep, thanks to the cooler air.
Today, we’ve been hopping borders between Croatia and Serbia – though no flags are changing. But it’s not just the geography that’s shifting – the weather is changing, too, and so is the mood on board.. Something has shifted. More and more, our thoughts are drifting homeward. Conversations circle around what comes next.
It feels like our minds are zooming out, pulling back – even though we still have 800 kilometers to go, around two weeks of river ahead.
Borders, weather, thoughts – everything seems to be in transition.
And yet, once again, we found the perfect spot to spend the night – and once again, we’re practicing experimental anchoring at its finest.
