Day 31, Sulina, RU

logbook 25 06 22

Another slow day in the Delta, on two wheels. We ride through wetlands and along narrow paths, always close to the water. Moving slowly feels right — the rhythm of the boat has followed us onto land.

Every day now, we also make our way to the sea. Throughout the journey, we knew we were heading for the Black Sea, but strangely, we had never formed a clear image of it. The end of the journey always seemed to lie somewhere in the Delta, not at the shoreline.
Now, standing on the beach — with open skies, grazing cows, and soft waves — we finally meet the sea. And we enjoy its wide stillness.

On board, preparations for the next phase begin. The “Ma Tjo Po” is getting ready to head upstream again. But before that, we’re looking forward to connecting with local artists — Studio Obsolete and Wiltrud Hackl — for what promises to be a rich exchange.
