The Danube is back—unbelievably wide, and the foothills of the Carpathians come into view. We’re entering the Iron Gate region now, with Serbia on the right bank and Romania on the left.
Not only is the river wider here—it also feels different. More inviting. The water appears cleaner, the current stronger, the whole landscape more open and alive. It’s as if the river has returned to itself—and with it, our own sense of flow and direction.
We’ve now passed the halfway point of our journey to Sulina—1070 kilometers lie behind us since Linz. It’s a beautiful milestone, but also a bittersweet one. Time is flying, and there’s a quiet sadness in knowing that each day brings us closer to the end.
Meanwhile, the ship is running great. Steady, strong, and surprisingly effortless—it feels like it, too, has found its rhythm.
Thanks to a return to European mobile coverage, we’re back online—which means regular logbook updates and videos are coming your way again.
