The day started with a bit more excitement than planned. Our cooling water temperature was too high—and there was no cooling water jet. Our nautical friends will know what that means.
Just as we were leaving the sheltered harbor, we had to make an emergency anchor drop. Unfortunately, the anchor didn’t hold, so we had to push the bow into the sand and secure the boat from shore.
It was a tense moment—but the whole crew worked together calmly and effectively. A solid team in action.

We’re not entirely sure what caused the issue, but we did find some river weeds in the filter. In any case, the engine and cooling system are now fine, and we’ve resumed our course toward Budapest.
Today we also refueled with diesel, topped up our water tanks, and are preparing to welcome new guests on board.

The Danube in this part of Hungary is wide and quiet, lined with dense forest, sleepy villages and endless beaches. After the morning’s action, we’re grateful for its gentle rhythm.
